She was instrumental in making our dream of owning a home come true. As first-time home buyers, we were anxious and relatively uniformed about the process of buying a home. When we first began our home search, we met real estate agents who relied solely on automated database systems to send us updates about listings. There was very little personal communication about what we truly wanted in a home outside of price range and location. Furthermore, the agents did not respond quickly to our calls and required that we set up appointments weeks in advance to view homes.
When we met Gwen it was like a breath of fresh air. She was friendly, extremely responsive, and made us feel like prioritized customers even though we were not purchasing a million-dollar home. She took the time to assess our needs and hand-picked homes for us accordingly. She remained in constant communication with us and gave us updates as soon as potential homes were listed on the market. She traveled considerable distances to show us homes on any day of the week, even if it was just one home.
Unlike other agents who only pointed out the obvious in home (e.g., “this is nice!” or “this is big!”), Gwen took the time to look at the details about a home to predict whether or not it would be a good investment and a place we would be proud to call our home. She exhibited knowledge about the construction of a house and pointed out potential structural and cosmetic issues. She showed that she truly wanted the best for us by telling us the truth even when it was difficult to hear. For example, we fell in love with a home that had notable foundational issues. Although it looked great on the surface, Gwen advised us to think about the future and consider the consequences of buying a home that would cost us thousands in repair in the future. When we had finally decided on a home and started the purchasing process, she even took us out again to show us a comparable house that had just been listed so that we could “be sure” that we were in love with the home we had chosen above all others. Through all of this, she did not pressure us; she just provided us with feedback so that we could make informed decisions.
Gwen also has a wealth of knowledge pertaining to negotiating the best price, finding services and contractors, and even providing design ideas. It was obvious that she was willing to do her research to find us the best resources throughout the entire process. In summary, Gwen is professional, attentive, responsive, friendly, accessible, and really has the best interest of her clients in mind. It is clear that she loves what she does and we were blessed to benefit from her passion for making others’ home buying dreams come true!
